Tao

There are many great silent serials, especially in the 1910s, but there are also many that struggle to stand out, and often those rely on the exotic appeal. Tao (1923), is one of those, taking our story to Cambodia, without really adding much else to make the story interesting. Once in a while it'll seem alright, but most of the 540 minutes are a chore to get through. I mean, there are good bits in there, but not enough to warrant the length of this production.
