Not gonna lie, I only decided to watch this because of how heinously stupid the premise is. It doesn't disappoint. It's filled to the brim with obnoxious high school drama cliches nary of any semblance of self-awareness. Like most high school dramas, it's way too hyperbolic to take seriously and I'm given the sense the writers have no idea how teens actually behave. But hey, at least I wasn't short on coming up with a lot of shitty puns to mock this piece. It wasn't exactly a tall order!

It's pretty bad I won't lie. Milk crate was cute though.

I didn't think this was that bad for a made-for-Netflix youth film. It's like a watered down version of John Hughes films such as Pretty in Pink - the most obvious homage being the Dunkleman character. It's a bit amusing that the underdog of the story is a pretty white girl from a wealthy family, who just happens to be tall.

Not a really good one. It doesn't hurt my brain to watch it, but unless you are absolutely starving for a teenage romance movie, skip it. Find something else.

Not saying that a woman can't be self-conscious about her height even though it seems quite a bit like "goshdarnit, the burden of looking like a model - I must be cursed" kinda over-privileged problem.. Anywho. I don't have issues with the run-of-the-mill story structure. Spaghetti with meatballs is a tried recipe, but still ok. However, I DID have an issue with the main leads being pretty unlikable. And talk about that total lapse of character establishment of the transfer student at the end!

That were more clichés than I can handle in one movie. So narrow minded to put people in boxes like that. Too few moments for it to be worth watching. *Bad

Of fucking course this is the first movie that has characters reading Confederacy of Dunces and doing an embarrassing take on it at that.

Very problematic movie with messed up plot beats and kinda bordering on missing it's own moral points with way too much hyperbole, but I smiled at the end and kinda enjoyed it.
