Sword in the Desert

"Sword in the Desert" crafts an engaging narrative brimming with action, yet as it draws to a close, it leaves an impression that there's more to the story, as if a significant part was omitted. While the film reflects the era in which it was made and provides an enjoyable viewing experience, the abrupt conclusion creates a lingering sense of displeasure.

This story takes place between when World War II ended and before they'd figured-out what to do about the surviving Jewish refugees, and we follow Dana Andrews smuggling the refugees back across the European boarders. The focus is a little bit too much on the American being American, but the scenario it all is centered around is a intriguing one. At some points it hits the points well, but other times it's too much a Hollywood picture. Definitely one that made me think.
