("not that hot" is a total lie), get past the opening bit, (DO NOT GIVE UP, THE SHAKY CAM DOES GO AWAY, LISTEN AT LEAST) & develops into an interesting parallel lives mystery. Only small cast/production but brilliantly works proving that a big budget is not always needed to still make engrossing cinema that looks like the funding is entirely enough. Some points deducted for shaky cam and (rare) implausible bits - a definite watch. Though depicts modern relationships there is no nudity.

Reminds me a lot of WKW films, and in many ways just as good. I love the mood and the way it builds up to the ending, though not so much the actual ending itself. The cinematography, while very good in parts, also has a lot of really annoying shaky cam. It gets a lot right and I really like it, but a few things keep it short of greatness.

Unconstrained and playful with both story and filmmaking - better than I remembered it!

First 15 minutes made me feel nauseated due to the first person POV and camera shaking and rolling all over. After that it smooths out (except for a little bit later on) and the plot gets engaging. This is a worthy entry in the muted slice of life in Hong Kong/urban China genre. Fix the camera work of the first part and my score would be a couple points higher.

DVDRip no MakingOff.

A great insight into the hidden underworld of Shanghai. The narrative is interesting and although it seems a little contrived at times, Ye Lou makes up for it with technique, symbolism and inventive camerawork.

Great Story. Can be compared to Hitchcock's Vertigo, or the style of story-telling in Wang Kar Wai's films.

A movie of unexpected depth, desire, novelty and clarity of vision. Loved every minute of it.
