Watched it on www.mubi.com A strong rural story, which uses the elements of its setting to its full. Perennial turkish bad guy Erol Tas was at his best as cruel Osman. It has some genuinely awkward moments though(Bahar hugging a telegraph post or Osman suckling a cow to hint at Bahar) and Hulya Kocyigit is such a bad actress, from the way she acts it is impossible to tell whether she is in pain, aroused or constipated, ah and she kisses the air while cuddling.

Surprisingly accomplished and profound. This has the stylistic leftovers of Italian Neorealism, the cynicism of Bunuel and hints of Psycho that come together to serve both Turkish political commentary and a very real and dynamic film experience. It's only negatives come from some stilted acting in parts and a plot device at the end that runs contrary to its negative message about patriarchy.

90 minutes of a bunch of idiots being taken advantage of by an asshole narcissist. Sure it has real-world resonance, but it’s not exactly my idea of entertainment. The moral of the story is “bad people are bad.” I’m aware, thank you!

Almost Biblical in it's simplicity, this film is a pretty powerful little parable about the dangers of selfishness and about not standing up for what you believe in. It kind of spins it's wheels in the last act seeming to run out of story, but it's beautifully shot, well-acted and comparable in power to many Italian neorealist films.

A compelling story with some very strong moments. It does feel a bit heavy handed at times, but not so much that it hurts the film.
