Made for TV budget and soap opera quality acting. The movies idiocy can be summed up with the fact that the characters find a large cache of money and act impressed even making plans on how they could live off of it. In the post apocalypse. With no currency system and the majority of the population dead. This movie is awful, so awful I was transfixed to the end waiting to see if each scene would be worst than the last. Its time for Romero to be put out to pasture.

Sooo.. this was supposed to be a comedy, right? Everything about this film is hilariously inept. The worst thing might be how blasé every character is about the fact that the world is being overrun by the undead. "Oh I guess there's some zombies walking around whatevs brah let's go do out of character stuff for the flimsiest of reasons." Instantly kills any tension there might otherwise have been. Romero, you hack.

I know I shouldn't expect much from a zombie movie, but this one stings because somewhere buried under what feels like a rushed script with needlessly cheesy dialogue and lazy writing is a good movie with relatively fresh ideas. Van Sprang is a great poor man's RDJ. Welsh and Karkanis are great as well, but the rest of the cast is definitely second rate. Why can't George A. fucking Romero get a little more cash for effects and actors? So much wasted potential here.

For someone with the perigee of Mr Romero you would be expecting somewhat more than what you get. Although there are some new ideas to play with there is not enough to make it a good zombie film.

A definite step-up from DIARY: the provincial, cloistered setting (feeling more Irish than North American) makes a nice change from the usual urban dystopia, but like the previous chapter, this feels like Romero revisiting older, better times, but having no idea how to stage a scene for shock or horror effect. It’s hard to pick better than Welsh if you want stubbornness incarnate, but the rest of the cast are dull and make little to no impression. A bit of a sad whimper for Romero to go out on.

Romero's final zombie film is a weak late career effort that brings the series to a less than satisfying close. Budgetary restrictions need to be accounted for, but even with ample funds he would have struggled to work miracles with his humdrum script that rehashes elements from Day and doesn't really advance the series in any notable way, nor does it contain much relevant social commentary beyond a cliched Hobbesian view of man. The digital cinematography is flat and the makeup is subpar.

Just as terrible as Diary of the Dead (2007). I was alternately cringing and falling asleep throughout the whole thing. The dialogue was truly awful and it wasn't helped by the characters or the actors portraying them. The CGI gore was horrible, and the practical stuff wasn't anything we haven't seen before. I think Romero is kind of beyond redemption now, so I hope he doesn't make any more films in this series.

Romero's worst movie. Feels like a bad attempt at trying to relive the magic of Day of the Dead. No character is likable and instead I was cheering on the zombies. Not even a good B Zombie movie.

The implicit proletarian solidarity at the conclusion of LAND OF THE DEAD had as its limit the conflict between human proles and undead lumpen proles, the latter still literally incurably threatening, requiring walls to prevent violence despite, if that is the word, the awakening of zombie class consciousness. Here the relatively privileged struggle over the question of the reformability of the less privileged, as they tend to do, with self-interest and moralisation the terrain of contestation.

The execution sometimes falls short, but this kind of zombie western brings fresh ideas to Romero's study of paternalism through his hordes of walking dead: for the first time, the living tries to find a way to keep the dead alive, walking, living. It's a way to keep themselves alive -- and also the ones they love that are hanging around absolutely lifeless.

The latest instalment in George A Romero's zombie saga, and I'm sort of hoping it's the last. Romero was never subtle in his social satire, but at this point that's really all that remains, since the moral dilemma isn't very well done and the aesop "stop fighting each other and face the real problem" is ridiculously overdone by the end. There's a nice Romeroesque twist near the end, some nice splatter (even if it's mostly CGI by now, I miss Tom Savini), but overall a fairly dull movie.

The best part of this movie is that they bring back a very side character from Diary of the Dead and base it mostly around him. Unfortunately it really doesn't work as the story is almost ludicrous. I wouldn't mind Romero leaving the zombie franchise for something else (or at least letting someone else write his scripts), but I have a feeling he's been pigeon-holed and can't get out. Only huge zombie fans need watch.

At this point it feels like Romero now resembles his zombies. Cluelessly shambling about with just the faintest of notions of what they did in a past life still in their head. It's like there's one more good zombie movie left in him, he just can't quite figure out how to make it happen. Le tragic.

A horror movie about zombies, in which the zombies are reduced to the state of being nothing more but an annoyance and the horror is only manifested in the horrible script and acting. I can appreciate it trying to be different, but I'm also quite sure that Romero is slowly becoming a zombie himself, as his movies keep getting crappier with each new installment.

People didn't like that movie, when it first came out- and to be honest, they still don't like it. But I think it is great, it is funny and not too much silly. I say: give it a watch.

A weak outing by Romero, but I haven't come to expect much from him lately. It still has some zombie action, but it's really been toned down with human drama, which is not something I've come to desire from a zombie flick.

The guy fishing for zombies was pretty funny. But the dumb parts out weigh any good parts. When the twin was going to hug her zombie sister how dumb. Who cares if zombies eat animals they will still try eating humans.

Wish Romero could get a bigger budget and give us a Dead entry that can rival the original trilogy. Some effects are even a bit dated for the B-grade scene. Happy with anything I get from a franchise that keeps on giving even if its showing its cracks. On par with "Diary of the Dead'.

Much of the socio-political satire is missing from this film; especially as a direct sequel to Diary. But as a detached zombie film, not bad at all.

This isn't very good, even by horror movie standards. I've never been a fan of Romero but this is just terribly mediocre no matter how you slice it. None of the characters are particularly interesting and the conflict between the humans just feels forced and stupid far more often than a genuine critique. You can easily give this one a miss, whether or not you like zombie flicks.
