SPOILERS: 1st, Superman's face looks terrible. You get used to it but it's unnecessary. 2nd, there's no way his death is going to have much impact when he's dead for a 20 minute run-time (see also Bats V Supes). Despite that, the animators manage to keep 2 loong slugfests mostly visually interesting. It also departs significantly from the comics after his death which keeps things unexpected for those already familiar. It's also cathartic fun to watch the Clone finally slam Luthor around some.

Adequate, but man, they could have drawn this one better. A LOT better.

What the heck is this? This is nothing like the actual story. The story we get is decent but damn. Also, the character design for Superman sucked ass.

Top badass moment? (Sort of) Superman lecturing a woman over how to care for her cat. I’m not a Superman fan. He’s just an overprivileged do-gooder; he even casts aspersions on cacti in this film. And as for the cyclist maiming potholes his fighting leaves all over the roads... But okay, for a few seconds here I did feel something for him; I guess he really is brave. The black outfit and Hercules hairstyle did make him look a bit less of a dork, too. 1 cat, no chainsaws or decapitations.

Generally it is pretty damn good as they at least keep the story somewhat adult. They decided to go with the saturday morning cartoon style of animation, which ultimately is somewhat of a downfall/distraction for such a serious story being told.

Despite not having a very suitable title, this is an interesting movie with decent voice acting and surprisingly intense action, ending with a fight against one of Superman's most powerful and intimidating foes yet.

There's some bad people. Then Superman comes along and beats them because he's invincible. Then he goes away for a bit and some bad Supermen come along. Superman comes back and beats them too, because he's still invincible. The end. I know it's for kids, but that's no reason not to make an effort.

An interesting watch for Superman fans to hold them over until Snyderman's Man of Steel attempts to revive the series.

Dreadful character design, bad voice acting, and a plot that overstays its brief welcome. Big props should be given though to Warner for allowing the action scenes to be so violent and brutal. It's too bad the filmmakers wasted the opportunity on THIS.

I was really surprised when this movie turned out not to suck. Instead of bogging itself down in serious-ified drama or plots that make sense, the film instead elected to be ridiculous in entertaining ways. Lex Luthor is over-dramatically villainous and Superman is so heroic that he works on curing cancer in his spare time. (They're both voiced in a so-bad-it's-hilarious fashion.) It's also surprisingly brutal which I think more films ought to be. This one is worth giving a go.

I'm torn. There are very good points to this direct to video release and there are very bad points. Good: it's a better, less convoluted, retelling of the Doomsday saga plus it's got Kevin Smith in a cameo. It's also geared to a more adult audience (adult themes and language). Bad: The animation is on par with the TV show and there are some plot holes.
