Summer '03

One of the joys of watching movies based on the stupidest name game nonsense you can imagine is very very often not being the intended audience for a film and may I say, dear reader, I was not the audience for this film. I once thought it would be funny if I watched all of the Kissing Booth movies once upon a time and before I had made it ten minutes in I decided no one wants to see me review those, me least of all.

Never quite takes off. None of it really has any rhyme or reason. It feels like snippets of someone's boring diary with pages missing and absolutely no context. I can't imagine how this film would mean anything to anyone who wasn't the person who wrote it--it's that particular and nonsensical. It seems like the only point of the film is to showcase the subtle technological differences and the music that was popular that year. If this looks/sounds vapid and empty, trust your gut.

good movie

Original and quirky family drama. Joey King already has an impressive resume and is a very good actress.
