A fairly ambitious submarine flick with a solid cast. Unfortunately there was very little that thrill me about Submarine D-1 (1937). Too much a Lloyd Bacon routine job with his favorite Irish clan. He knew what to do with Pat O'Brien & Frank McHugh, as they did so many movies together, but he completely wastes George Brent, and barely does anything to rise the stock of fresh faced Wayne Morris. Had expected more.
