I don't necessarily dislike movies that are unrealistically positive, where everyone lives happily ever after. That kind of stuff has its place. But here I sensed that the writers believed this bullshit to their core, and they expected us to buy it. The movie has its head so far up its own ass that it doesn't even realize what pretentious assholes its characters are. I guess life will turn out great as long as you're a literary genius. This movie is dangerously disconnected with reality.

I only watched this because of Jennifer Connelly. It's my mission to watch her in everything (although she's taken on some bad roles) I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed a movie about a writer who constantly talks about writing. As "indie" dialogue as you will find. Were college kids really listening to Elliott Smith in 2012? I know I was definitely listening to him when I was 20...in 1998. (Thanks, Good Will Hunting!) The self fellating here by the film's writer/director is worthy of Pornhub

Starts out fairly interesting, before taking a nosedive into overly familiar indie romcom territory. Doesn't seem to have much to say, but that doesn't stop it from thinking that's it's a profound experience. A good one to ignore.

Zzzzzz. This has been done 1000th times before. Except for Collins' evil eyebrows, nothing stands out.

Utterly unrealistic and more flaws than you could ever list, but I was completely and utterly enveloped in the romantic world of this family of writers and the hyper-earnest dialogue through which they communicate. Serious potential to irritate, but I loved it.

Nice soundtrack. Cringey ending.

I liked the more relatable, more realistic message of dysfunctional families and relationships for 95% of the movie… and then it does a complete, very unrealistic 180 which makes you question what the movie’s real point was.

Either I'm bipolar or Stuck in Love has significant & frequent tonal shifts. There were a few scenes that I genuinely enjoyed, finding the characters sympathetic, endearing and witty; unfortunately for almost every other scene, the opposite was true. The film elevates writers to a special status, rewarding them for being obnoxious & pretentious, and at some point it became a little insufferable. That said, the performances are decent, coupled with an upbeat soundtrack makes the film watchable.

Has its moments but its been like 2 weeks since I watched it and I'm struggling to remember a whole lot. Pretty sure the soundtrack was good...

I liked this movie. Sure, I'll probably forget about it a month from now but I did have fun with it. The one thing that might keep it fresh in my memory is downloading the soundtrack (which is awesome by the way). The actors were all really lovable, except Lily Collins, which you later warm up to towards the end of the film. The movie has some nice tender moments a a few funny ones too. The part with Stephen King was probably my favorite. Watch this for a nice romantic comedy that's short.

It is a romantic drama, it's all that this is. No need to pretend you were expecting something else when you pressed play.
