Stuart (voiced by Michael J. Fox) is a little guy with a big heart, not to mention whiskers, a little pink nose and a really dapper wardrobe. When he's adopted by the Littles (a human family played by Davis, Lipnicki and Laurie) he embarks on adventures with a variety of characters -- including his nemesis, family cat Snowbell (voiced by Nathan Lane) -- and learns the true meaning of family, loyalty and friendship. What a piece of tripe. Through the overemphasised family values, sickly sweet theme and with spectacularly embarasing moments thrown in everywhere lies the remenants of a once promising adaptation. I really hate this film, not just for the shallowness, annoying characters and that horrible little brat but for the horrible campy cheesy atmosphere and poor dialogue. Who the hell thought Shyamalan would be good to write for this anyway? It's ok for a four year old, but for everyone else it sucks.

Bland, by-the-numbers kids film is harmless enough, but lacking much substance or wit a likable cast (both voice and live action) make this undemanding fun if it hits you in the right mood, with a peculiarly elaborate Shyamalan-lite twist at the midpoint which causes a sudden flurry of plotting machinations which at least breaks the Dopamine effect, however briefly!

It's very charming and entertaining enough for a family film. Michael J Fox is basically just voice acting himself in mouse form, but it works. The direction has a nice story book aesthetic that adds to the film, and the miniature work is fun.

Stuart Little is a cute family film. The story is fine but the acting is well above par. I liked that the movie didn't really go too far into explaining how mice could be adopted or hail cabs in this world. It was a bit strange when the family came but in the end everybody just accepted it. It takes guts to have that kind of confidence in your story and your audience to just let it go. It's not a classic but it is a good afternoon movie to watch with some kids.

A ridiculous, absurd movie whose point I didn't get even when I was a child. It just hits every "generic family movie" beat, and that the animal in this one is anthropomorphic doesn't really help much.

Stuart Little is not an ambitious undertaking. Like its eponymous character, it's not grand, it's not big, and there's absolutely nothing ground-breaking about it. Nevertheless, it's wholesome family entertainment, occasionally funny, likeable, and chances are, kids will enjoy it.

I really wanted to like this story, but I felt it was not as compelling as it should have been. There are a few genuinely sweet moments, and it is worth watching if for no other reason than to see Stuart's marvelous attitude throughout. Some of the animation was very cute. The story however, continually stretched reality to the breaking point, and used a few too many convenient plot devices in attempts to tug at our heart strings. Great for children, but inadequate for adults.

Excuse me as I ignore that haters... I grew up on this movie and it still holds a special spot for me. Stuart Little is clearly aimed for younger audiences but it works just perfectly as a family film. Yes there are a few flaws but it doesn't stop it from being a decent movie. Michael J. Fox is always charming no matter where or what he is.

Aw-w-w-w-w-w. The computer-animated talking white mouse, in his high-top red sneakers and assorted outfits, is cute as all get-out, even if his computer program gives him a too-close resemblance to a Coca-Cola polar bear. The soft-sell absurdity of his adoption into a live-action human family (Laurie and Davis are as perfect a pair of parents as any in a Fifties sitcom), and his friction with an unwelcoming housecat, intermittently rises to the threshold of charm.

A sweet, easy to watch family film with some impressive animation (especially on the cats). It’s aimed at kids of course but has a great tone, full of knowing adult humour with genuinely amusing moments. Shame there’s just not quite enough to the plot, feeling a bit more like an episode of something rather than a fully fleshed out film.

E.B. White is not a happy camper. His grave is not a happy camping ground. This was the first clue (after the Sixth Sense, which I liked a lot) that M. Night Shyamalan is actually a imp sent from hell to ruin the happiness of people worldwide. I can't even look at Stuart's creepy little cg head without wanting to squish it.
