Stronghold

Stronghold (1951) is a pretty bad movie with some appeal. The acting ranges from stiff to exaggerated without rhyme or reason, and the narrative feels more like unpolished ideas than something gripping. But it's fascinating seeing Veronica Lake doing something outside the Hollywood flavor. But not surprising, after this Lake was done with movies for a long while. Weird career. She was a megastar for about a second with that iconic hairdo, and then she did one movie after the other exposing her.
