Strike Me Pink

Delivers some great laughs and musical interludes throughout with only a drawn-out finish and poor beginning to mar it. It's been much too long since I've sampled the marvelous Eddie Cantor.

A good solid Cantor with all the ingredients and a carnival atmosphere, to boot. How can you lose? Let me just say here that the dearth of Cantor and Laurel and Hardy available on DVD is a major cultural loss that needs to be remedied.

Strike Me Pink (1936) is another funny Eddie Cantor comedy. Though not among his best. This is a case of feeling the material was better then the execution. Wasn't enough spirit into the punchlines with Cantor looking almost bored at times, as well something off in the production. Too quiet for a zany Cantor adventure, apart from when it goes all amusement park wild! But while this is not among the most accomplished comedies of the 1930s, this has a lot of laughs!
