Strictly Unconventional

This story would have benefited greatly had they waited a few years before producing the sound version of this W. Somerset Maugham play, for a lot of the acting was poor like in so many movies during the 1929-1931 period. The old folks did all right. The always elegant Lewis Stone and most importantly for this story Ernest Torrence & Alison Skipworth looking like the pathetic couple they were supposed to be. However I prefer the silent version of this story, The Circle (1925).
