Well done, and perhaps a sobering companion piece to CALL ME BY YOUR NAME-17. Best moment is the closeup on the priest's eyes as he sings the Pater Noster. I would have made the movie about that.

It uses a ton of my least favorite LGBTQ film tropes, with the overabundance of awful characters being one I wouldn’t mind never seeing again. This is somewhat excusable however, considering it is apparently a true story. The above average leads, and surprisingly good cinematography help to elevate this a little.
