Liked the general atmosphere but disliked the run of the plot and hated the ending.

Norma Shearer attempts to be modern and doesn't believe in marriage but unfortunately she has underestimated her innate feminine need for monogamous love. I hate when than happens. I also hated the ending of this film, and thought she should (of course) have ended up with Robert Montgomery.

Norma Shearer and her free love with her man, on the road to a broken heart..... Her main love affair is with the world traveling Neil Hamilton in this movie, yet there are still sparks with Robert Montgomery in the background. Or at least for him. Sadly for the movie not enough sparks to make this anything special or even close to their other movie together that year; Private Lives (1931) which is close to excellent. Strangers May Kiss (1931) on the other hand is barely good.
