Ticks all the boxes for a good B-version of a Thin Man snoop story, except for a enchanting leading man. Allyn Joslyn is a character actor I associate more with annoying brother-in-laws and that sort of thing, so I'm still struggling with his elevation into leading roles in 1944. He's got a lot of personality, just not the right one for this kind of thing. The rest of Strange Affair (1944) sits well, including Frank Jenks as a police investigator, so it's a lot of fun.

Dangerous Blonde 1943 was better, this pseudo-sequel has a worst mystery, more stupid comedy (the typical “aren’t you jealous?” stuff) and uninteresting supporting cast
