Stranded

I'm sure in 2018 there's a lot to find iffy here or whatever but it's an enjoyable "romance" picture.

The trio of Frank Borzage/George Brent/Kay Francis returns with Stranded after seemingly having a lot of fun making Living on Velvet (1935). The tone here is more serious as they involve racketeers trying to wreck a bridge job for not getting protection money. Becomes a mix of depression era social drama, gangster flick and beautiful romance. Regardless of it's limitations this became a engaging story. Brent for once comes across as a real he-man and Kay Francis was shining in all her kindness!
