When I was in college there were three things I wished I could do... kick game to the ladies, win a freestyle battle, and spin on my head. I am now married so I can say I sorta achieved one of these. I am not going to try to defend my lofty score when it seems to be averaging around a 55 with all other viewers. I just really liked the music and dancing stuff (esp the rain scene). I have no clue what the storyline is. Briana Evigan is a GREAT actress to watch on mute. Shake it like a pompom!

Aside from its dopey title and being a follow-up to the first "Step Up" which was kind of bust that happened to be a hit, "Step Up 2" does everything the last one did just a little bit better. The movie is all about the dancing, and it's big, loud, fast-moving and flat out cool for the audience its intended for. Taken on those terms it does exactly what it's supposed to and makes for an entertaining film. And no it's not great storytelling or great filmmaking, but I don't care.

My wife and I downed a bottle of wine each to endure this movie. We watched it soley to ridicule.

Best Hip Hop dance movie I have ever seen. The dancing was awesome. I appreciated the fact that the climactic dance took place in the rain. However, it's not a simple re-skin of the first film, it is a decent film. The main flaw is that it tries to do too much, as you have Andie having to juggle her new school with the street crew, then setting up the new crew, then the tournament along with some romance thrown in for good measure but if you like dance movies this is a decent one to watch.

Summary: Romantic sparks occur between two dance students from different backgrounds at the Maryland School of the Arts. Isn't that the most original story EVER?!

As expected, it features formulaic storytelling, laughable acting and dozens of clichés, but also spectacular and amazingly entertaining dance numbers -- oh, Briana Evigan dancing in the rain, doing all those hot moves with that great body, you know.

Would have been a zero if it weren't for the Bhutan track jacket.

Not as good as Step up and Step up 3D, but the end dance scene is really cool.

Gorgeous lead and exuberant choreography do not make up for the rest of the picture.

The story is rather weak but the dancing, what there is of it anyway, is not bad. I wish they would have shown more of the dancing and humor than the drama and bad acting.

The dancing in the final 15 mins makes this *Okay movie all worth it.

The dancing scenes are great, specially the last one, and that's really all that can be asked from it.

Dull and drippy rehash of the emotional beats of the first film does admittedly come to life during some well choreographed dance scenes, but these would probably work better in isolation rather than being plugged into the half-hearted dramatics surrounding them; as actors, Evigan and Hoffman can't even match the tepidly pleasant heat of Tatum and Dewan before them (I must have nodded off during the scene where their attraction is even hinted at!) Still a pleasant enough diversion.

You can't go into this kind of movie and expect too much in terms of storyline. The characters had some depth, but not a lot. Where this film makes it count, though, is the dance sequences (of course), which are breath-taking. Amazing combinations of choreography and music make this a good family film that will make you want to slip on your dancing shoes.

Actually not terrible. Not good, necessarily, but better than I expected.

If you've seen the first one and know how dumb that is, then this sequel takes the cliche's and the cheese to a whole new level. Entertaining for people who like to see bland people with no personality dance to shite music. If that's not your cuppa tea, then give this shit a swerve.

The story is lame, formulaic, and unconvincing, but no one is going to watch this for the story. The dancing is strong, creative, and exciting, and as long as the characters are dancing (and not talking), the movie is pretty fun.

As a story, Step Up 2 the Streets was implausible and too black and white, which we could all expect for it. For my dissappointment not even the dancing blew my mind away: MTV's Americas Best Dance Crew has spoilt me and now I wanted to see something extraordinary.

This is basically a kung fu movie with the kung fooey replaced by dancing. The final kung fu scene is magnificent.

Step Up 2 the Streets was not a bad movie. The dance moves are both impressive and engaging and it runs the movie through and through making it very entertaining. So much so that it's hard to imagine that this is the sequel to the horrible original. I actually would recommend this movie and would watch it again.

Seen it over and over before. Good dance scenes, no character development, couldn't get excited. Danielle Polanco is kinda hot.
