Throw-away programmers such as State Police (1938) often completely rely on how much chemistry the selected cast has. Unfortunately the duo of John 'Dusty' King & William Lundigan did little for me and any interaction with the female counterparts was even colder. Old-timer J. Farrell MacDonald did get something out of his scenes, but otherwise most of this felt way too forced.
