Stark Love

A weird mix of documentary style rural shots and a 'mountain folks' story where the men are illiterate and the women.... slaves. At the start I didn't really know what to make of it as it was more nature then story. But once the young lady gets desired it made for some strong storytelling, even if it was brief, with Helen Mundy doing her best Lillian Gish impersonation. I can understand why it's seen as a cult classic of sorts among silent movie fans for using mainly non-professionals.
