A Saturday morning cartoon mixed in with Star Wars. The animation is good, but the dialogue is terrible and sounds like is was written by a child. But if you put that aside, it really isn't that bad and has great battle scenes, and a fairly decent plot. Not as bad as people say it is.

As a pilot for a Saturday morning kids' serial, it's not bad. As a cinematic release it's trash. It poops on a lot of the canon and has no continuity with the movies, which I don't mind as long as it does it in an interesting way. But this just takes the same lame plotting, paper-thin characters, stilted unactable dialogue and gratuitous-to-the-point-of-boring action sequences and does them all in cartoon form. A small plus, the Anakin in this has more movement and humanity than the movie one.

A broken heart speaks here. it reminded me of going to a Bob Dylan concert: it killed idols. Seriously, I knew it wouldn't be a huge success, but I thought as a fan that I should see it. Well you shouldn't clearly. From the introduction on it's very clear the whole thing is heading in the wrong direction. And the music doesn't have anything to do with Star Wars. 20 points for because I saw lightsabers, Yoda and a bunch of nicely animated action scenes.

The Star Wars I knew and loved is dead, and this shit has taken it's place. I hated the prequels but at least the third one had some moments to make you think Lucas was trying to come to his senses. Then this crap comes out and we are given a 100 minute toy commercial a horrible plot. In fact, if you watched your kid play with Star Wars toys you'd probably be more entertained than watching this garbage.

Yes, yes, this was terrible. I'm not making any excuses for it. But in my initial review for this, a decade ago, I said that introducing characters was a terrible idea. I was wrong. The Clone Wars cartoon series that this terrible film spawned was actually fucking baller. And I don't think there is a Star Wars character I like more than Ahsoka Tano. So, yeah, go watch this terrible movie. Suffer through it for the payoff of the TV series. So, so worth it in the end.

Not only is it disappointing, uninspired and banal, it's simply one of the worst films ever made. An abhorrent, unbearable, soul-crushingly-bad monstrosity of cinema vomited out of the most putrid bowels of Hell; a constant assault on the eyes, ears, mind, and possibly soul. Stay away.

Terrible dialogue, and the animation tries too hard to look like the cartoon. Either make it a cartoon or make it look semi-decent. The ship animations are evidence enough that they could have done the character rendering better. The script has a good plot, but as I said before the dialogue is total crap. Could have been really good if handled more professionally. Needs a stronger ending.

The animation is worse than Toy Story, and that was made thirteen years ago, you would think a big name like Star Wars would demand enough respect to have more effort put into it than into cooking ramen noodles. That aside, the plot is forgettable and bland, and the dialog is terrible. Do not watch this unless you are a die hard Star Wars fan, and are under the age of ten.

Not as bad as expected. The story is ok. And the Star Wars universe is always great. The dialogue however is even worse than in episode II. And the humor is so awful I almost had to stop the movie. It seems odd the movie is placed somewhere between episode II and III.

The problem is not that it's childish or whatsoever. The production values are unbelievably low, the voice casting is terrible for starters. The plot is sickening, the jokes which Anakin and his new padawan crack every 2 minutes are awful, distracting and completely misguided. Nothing good about story-wise, adds nothing interesting to the SW universe but takes so many away. The desing is good but it doesn't flow as an animation should.

Too much in common, dialogue-wise, with the last 3 films. It should appear somehow more acceptable in animation, but somehow it's not: extremely tin-eared, clunky, cheesy and groan-worthy. The animation is not for everyone: blocky and stiff, it resembles video games and Lego far too much for my taste. Biggest flaw: we've seen all this before 150 times. Makes you all too aware that we are being told the same exact bed-time story yet again. Far more of a checklist than a story. And I'm a fan!

I knew this was gonna be bad when it didn't have the iconic star wars scrolling intro. I mean the video games even have it but this movie did not? The animation was weak. The music was pretty good but the audio mixing all together was terrible, the voices especially. They introduced 3 big characters which don't appear or are even get mentioned in the other films. The story was just a dumb kids story. Besides a few good action scenes, and the clone troopers being totally bad ass, bad movie...

I really loved the animation style and wanted to like the movie. But once the characters start to speak, you realize this was written by complete fools... or maybe I'm just not in the target demographic. It is really shame when watching the movie you realize how rich the Star Wars universe is and then they use it make this non-sense story.

The animation and some of the voice work are rather rough, the smart-ass humour is a little strained and the dialogues can get stilted, but "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is surprisingly consistent and enjoyable, and quite an upgrade after the shitshow that were the prequels. Its biggest asset is the constant and, especially in the larger-scale sequences, very engaging action, while the plot is good enough to have you hooked throughout. Also, the legend Sir Christopher Lee is back as Count Dooku.

The animation is god-awful, Ewan McGregor must have thought:"I don't look that bad!"; it is obviously the first flight to see if it would work with not much monetary commitment. The antics of the droids are entertaining and the Strip club owner Hutt was cute. I found it too exploitative of the franchise back then and didn't watch it, but now it looks like a good venue to expand. Boring and tedious. The animation is a bit stiff but it has its own style. The plot however is just nonsense. It also doesn't entertain. There's fighting and then there's more fighting and then some more. Almost nobody important can die, because we know who are there in Revenge of the Sith. Just watch the tv series it's much better, minus the Jar Jar episodes. You really miss out on little to nothing, this movie has almost no noticeable bearing on the plot in the show. I expected something much worse and watched it just to begin with the series (and so, considering it just a pilot more than a threatrical experience). Though it has a lot to improve and has a childish target in mind (yet, I find Episode I more childish), the introduction of Ahsoka character (that even helps finding Anakin less anoying) is hard to ignore as a great idea and an interesting female character to younger audiences that usually lack that kind of roles.

I didn't exactly have high expectations for The Clone Wars, so I enjoyed it. Other than the actors reprising their film roles, though, the voice acting is atrocious, ranging from passable (Obi-Wan and Yoda) to sounding nowhere close to the originals (Anakin and Palpatine). The action in the first half of the movie is too repetitive (Jedi reflect laser bolts, Jedi reflect more laser bolts), and I thought the Padawan character was grating.

Which is exactly the point. At the end of the day, Star Wars: The Clone Wars isn't really intended to be a stand-alone theatrical offering. Think of it instead as a marketing vehicle for the upcoming Cartoon Network series, an 88-minute big-screen preview of what you can likely expect when the story migrates to the tube. (pluggedin.com)

Looks like it was designed to be perfect for video game tie-ins. The dialog and voice acting are atrocious, and the the animation is really stiff. The plot structure was clearly intended to be a series of half-hour TV shows, and it does not translate to feature length well. All tension is destroyed. I actually liked it better than the prequels, but that's not saying much.

Very disappointing as I thought that this would've focused more about the Clone Wars than it did with the kidnapping of Jabba the Hutt's son. The background animation looked very cool and it was easy to watch, but when characters came on the screen, it was very hard to watch. I'll admit that as a Star Wars geek I'll watch anything 'Wars, but although the plot here is an okay side-story the dialogue really could have used several more drafts of polish.
