You know what? I believe Argonaut is one of the greatest characters created by Rodriguez. No kidding.

Some people think they're too good for poop jokes, I guess. Jessica Alba's preggo fight scene is hot tho.

Finally, what Rodriguez should have been doing all along--making kids' movies! This thing is no more or less stupid than any of his other flicks meant ostensibly for adults. But children do seem to be the logical audience for his drivel.

Someone once told Robert Rodriguez he could make kids movies. That person is a dirty fucking liar. Essentially a desperate, poop-filled derivation of the old "Batman" show. Not as bad as Shark Boy and Lava Girl, worse than Shorts -- God why do I keep watching this shit. Can you believe some people once thought Rodriguez was in the same league as Tarantino?

A trainwreck and a half. The script is one of the worst ever by a noteworthy screenwriter (Robert Rodriguez seems to have wasted no time or effort on it); the nonsensical story is with half-assed dialogue and obnoxious characters. Towards the end, there are a few interesting ideas, but they're ignored in favor of empty flash and dash. Miserable acting, special effects, and direction--and a "Aromavision" scratch-n-sniff card which feels like a tacked-on gimmick, and smells like God-knows-what.

A kinda soft reboot (before that was really a thing) – loud, flashy and colourful as is par for the course for this series, but despite a uniformly decent effort from the new cast, this can’t recapture the modest magic of Banderas, Gugino et al, and feels more like a pale retread than a necessary continuation/restart. Never tops its wonderful opening sequence as a pregnant Alba struggles to make it to hospital on time; Gervais seems like an underused (and ultimately unnecessary) addition.

Very boring movie.

A sequel and a reboot that was part of the Weinstein's failed plan to revive their old franchises, this is nowhere near as bad as its reputation suggests. The new kids aren't quite as likeable, but they are amiable enough, and Alba is surprisingly watchable for reasons other than her looks. The concept of a time thief is a good one, even if Rodriguez's slapdash script doesn't capitalise on it, and there are a few neat moments of cartoon surrealism.

A very poor attempt to cash in. A very poor attempt to continue the series. Another song and dance and more cheese topping this time with a dual performance from over actor Jeremy Piven. Cheesy time speeding up plot device to try and drive home an over zealous message about cherishing family. Stick to being campy, aesthetically displeasing and emotionally empty. McHale and Alba are the king and queen of the least likable leads. An awful entry.

Spy Kids 4 is a gross, unfunny, directed at arms length, poorly shot film with terrible effects and an even worse story to boot. The kid actor as well are fairly painful to try and watch. Let the kids skip this one.

F: Robert Rodriguez, please stop making these. Please stop. I don't think my eyes can handle the CGI torture any longer. Oh and the acting, too. Oh, and the plot too. Did I mention I hate these movies?

Retired OSS agent Marissa Cortez Wilson (Jessica Alba) thinks she has her hands full trying to bond with her stepchildren (Rowan Blanchard and Mason Cook), until she is called back into action. This new assignment will involve the three of them and a couple of former Spy Kids (Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara) in a fight to stop the villain Timekeeper (Jeremy Piven).

Cannot understand the bad reviews on this. A very intricate and clever plot. intriguing and challenging concepts on time, some beautiful cinematography and a bit of humour too. The film is aimed at kids rather than me, but the best kids films always have something for the big kids (parents) too.

It's pretty damn stupid. That being said, it's not actually that bad. It knows it's a silly movie, and just has fun with it. The messages, while hammered in like crazy, are nice enough. It was good that they had the original kids back, especially because the new ones aren't very good. Yeah, it's not a good movie, but I still can't judge it too harshly because it doesn't take itself seriously either.
