Rodriguez honed in on novelty by creating an effects driven spectacle with modest means that moves from set piece to set piece functioning on game logic. The CGI is of its time, but like Tron, which it occasionally resembles, it works because it is aiming for 'immersion', and the cartoon silliness is frequently charming. Sly also hams it up as the villain and was an unusual casting choice that generally pays off. All in all, an enjoyable piece of nonsense.

You know those 3D shows at theme parks that rely on all physical gags for their comedy? But you're OK with these gags cause hey it's a 15 minute movie and I've been on my feet all day. Take out that silver lining and make the movie 90 minutes and you've got Spy Kids 3D. Also the 3D sucks and the comedy gags aren't even good.

I tried to give this review a negative number, but the system won't allow it. Garbage. Vile. Rotten. I wasted good money to see this in the theater. The movie actually got better when I took my 3d glasses off(thus the 1 and not a 0)! What a waste of great talent (Hayek, Banderas, Montalban). I was such a big fan of Rodriguez, until this movie.

Rushes too quickly into the game world and bombards you with nonstop 3D nonsense in one pointless game sequence after another. There's a severe lack of emotional involvement, and the brother-sister dynamic is sorely missed. Carmen doesn't even show up until halfway through the film, and even after that, they barely talk to each other. And Sylvester Stallone is awful. He needs to stay away from comedy, because he is utterly incapable of being funny. And the movie makes no sense at all.

What a pile of trash this turned out to be, it really is almost unbearable to watch in 3D and will probably give you a migraine before long. Even in 2D the film is terrible sporting mediocre special effects, the usual annoying little sprogs and one of the worst plotlines I have ever seen as its best features. How the hell they managed to blackmail Sylvester Stallone and even George Clooney onboard I really can't imagine.

This movie is bad (ugly visuals, incomprehensible plot, bland lead character-sorry, Juni) so I'm just going to use this review to describe in full its one great moment. Sexy scientist Antonio Benderas is hard at work in his lab and declares that "nothing is more important" than his current project, but when he hears that his kids are in trouble, he dramatically destroys it, flies off in his rocket boots, and lands superhero-style on the street with "DAD" emblazoned on the screen. Dad goals.

Looks like I have another hill staked out to die on – cheerfully silly and over-the-top change of pace is the best series entry so far; Sabara proves up to the challenge of being the focal hero, gently sparring with the real MVP Montalban, whose grandpa with a new lease on life is surprisingly touching and a wonderful tribute to the actor in its own right. This is just solid, silly (if occasionally too hectic) fun, while also providing Stallone an unusually goofy time as a maniacal villain.

Where 3D movies have been around for a century, they have been getting more attention from the start of new millennium. Spy Kids 3 is milking the 3D effects and forgetting anything else. Even when i liked martial arts fights in 3D, there isn't anything else to watch.

Pretty close to so bad it's good. This might be Stallone's best role because he gets to just be campy and terrible and it works for his character.

A major step down for the franchise. Most of what this film has going for it probably got left behind in the planning stages. Ideally the pitch for the story would have sounded great in theory. Even the performances from Sabara and Vega fail to meet standards. You may however get a chuckle of two from a hammy, over the top, Sylvester Stallone.

Pint-sized kid spy Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara) faces his biggest challenge yet when he confronts the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone), a ruthless villain sentenced to virtual prison by the Organization of Super Spies. The Toymaker has captured Juni's sister, OSS agent Carmen (Alexa Vega), and is holding her inside a virtual reality environment called "Game Over." Now Juni must use his cunning to advance to the nearly impossible "Level Five" in order to rescue his sister.

Some of the worst 3-D I have ever seen. Even with the glasses on the red and green outlines remain, so what is the point? I saw this in theaters as a kid and I barely noticed anything pop out. What a hideous and stupid movie.

These effects are so awful that I bet if you traveled back to 2003 and told people that in ten years 3D would be super popular again, they wouldn't even bother to ask how you managed time travel, they'd just burn you at the stake.

I saw this in theaters cause I was interested in the 3D aspect. And I figured it's based around video games and has Stallone in it so it probably won't be too bad. I was wrong. The 3D was weak, and come the end of the movie this was just a jumbled mess, with random things happening and random characters from the other movies I never saw just popping up unnecessarily. Probably good for kids, but no appeal for the rest of the family. WAIT... Rodriguez did this? I had no idea... why?
