Spooky Buddies

It's puzzling how such a crappy series had survived so long. If you've ever wondered what a lobotomy felt like, scrounge up a few of these guys and buy yourself some handkerchiefs for the inevitable drool. I may have watched this just to have another low score under my belt, I'm not entirely sure if that makes me a masochist or just stupid.

I cannot believe I watched this thing (Parenthood, everyone!); but I did. It must be difficult for the actors to be in this kind of movie, like a career dead-end. That said, I did appreciate the effort to make that many dogs act, CGI or no CGI, that's not a small feat and that's all the positive things that I can say about it; the rest was cringe-worthy.

It's like Hocus Pocus with dogs and awful DCOM level humor. Harland Williams freaking rules.

I find myself growing weary of the Buddies films. Shocking and treasonous though that statement may be, it must be said. The problem is not the Buddies themselves, its the way they are being utilised in the films. Santa Buddies had them relegated to a supporting role with their individual traits watered down and the same applies here. Just because we know the Buddies doesn't mean we don't want to see them playing up their traits. After all, it is the essence of what the Buddies are all about!
