Kind of dawdles along at the end when it should be the best part because it has the most Woods.

Not terribly realistic, crudely drawn, but quite nice nonetheless. It brings up quite a few issues surrounding the American cult phenomenon, doesn't shy away from prodding the bourgeois upbringing responsible for alienating the victim before he fell under the cult's spell, and I actually enjoyed watching Woods and Dennehy hamming it up a little.

Second only to Videodrome in Woods' filmography, for my money. His foul-mouthed cult deprogrammer is great.

Cults, man.

It goes on about ten minutes too long, but James Woods and Karen Allen craft a couple of great characters. It really knows how to use Karen Allen - how could you not follow her?
