Spirit of Youth

A black film! It's a rarity and I still get surprised whenever I come across a 1930s film with a black cast. This one was made to capitalize on the fame of JOE LOUIS!Cool to see such a celebrity, but NO, Joe Louis was no actor. This looks cheap and almost lifeless. About the only capable actor is Clarence Muse. There's musical numbers too. Naturally there is boxing. That's when Joe was most at home. They filled this more with songs then punching. Or anything to avoid having Louis actually act.
