Spaceman

SPACEMAN's underdog story is enhanced by its clearly limited resources and its lack of an official seal-of-approval from MLB. It's an unfussy take on a declining athlete in crisis deciding whether pride or love is his true motivation. Not great but not nearly as cloying or embarrassing as I'd feared - the filmic equivalent of a journeyman reliever. Should've saved the Warren Zevon needle drop for the ending.
