Canadian Star Wars/Mad Max mash-up. Production values of a mainstream film, yet plot on par with those campy Italian rip-offs of the said movies. Add a super annoying brat Molly Ringwald to the mix, and you get a hard to sit through film, even if there's nothing particularly wrong with it. I thought design of Michael Ironside monster was quite interesting, but that's about it.

The title alone is enough to inform you if this is in your ballpark or not. It's was in mine. It's a low budget 80s Star Wars and Mad Max clone, that keeps the plot moving forward in a great pace plus it doesn't overstay its welcome. Therefor being very entertaining, even if it is utterly predictable and unoriginal. .

Mad Max / Star Wars rip off - script and plot sub par - not bad enough to be considered so good it's bad. Clearly trying to capture the 80s sci fi market and cash in on the brief resurgence of 3-D. Maybe the 3-D made it more fun back in the day, but I understand very few theatres were able to exhibit it in that format. I will however give kudos to whoever was making the vehicles - they are awesome and the best part of a weak film.

A thoroughly forgotten sci-fi movie with a good collection of familiar faces. It's fairly entertaining, but also very dated and pretty damned cheesy and derivative.

Fun adventure movie. A weird mashup of Star Wars and Mad Max.

Man was this a boring pile of shit. There's nothing good here and Molly Ringwald is so fucking annoying in this that I almost turned it off.

I hope this movie doesn't expect me to forget the R2-D2 sound effect ten minutes in. I'll never forget,

If anything deserved the words 'guilty pleasure' it's something like this. It is amusing that within a technically imaginative yet erratic sci-fi, you have some of the most (unintentionally) unlikable and annoying heroes possible. Also even in the far future, the worst parts of film and life in general will still continue to exist - from malfunctioning computers and divorce settlements to the fact that the only 'strong' female character in the film is a robot that gets killed in the first half.

Some pretty interesting visuals every once in a while, but otherwise it's horribly dated with a mediocre cast.

Pretty average Star Wars meets Mad Max type of adventure movie with a young Molly Ringwald as the annoying, spunky sidekick character. Kinda campy and low budget, but it gets extra points for sentimental value...I saw this dozens of times as a kid.

Quite dated sci-fi. It's surprisingly not terrible as I was expected. The soundtrack isn't standard 80's trash however it is pretty generic to the point of being comical. To be blunt it just feels like a 80's b-movie sci-fi. Complete with mediocre acting, dialog that explains everything, goofy special effects and costumes.
