Space Raiders

There's a precocious boy that directly causes the deaths of every single crew member. It's madness! He's more effective than Freddy Krueger who always ends up letting someone survive. Not this kid. This is a Star Wars knockoff that you don't have to feel terrible about enjoying, but odds aren't exactly high that you will enjoy it.

Surprisingly entertaining B movie. It's compelling enough to keep your attention, while cliche and silly enough that you can have a good time making fun of it. Some of the ship designs are top notch, although the exterior shots are so overused that they eventually lose their impressiveness.

A Roger Corman production generally means an entertaining B-movie, and this is no exception. As expected, the movie is a surprisingly well-made sci-fi movie considering its low-budget. Impressive matte paintings, practical effects, and a James Horner score create a sufficient sci-fi world to tell this cute story about a boy and a gang of space pirates.
