South of Heaven

Essentially sort of dumb, and probably too pulpy and sadistic in a Tarantino/Rodriguez type of way (aesthetically it's like Sin City meets Cory McAbee by way of Beatty's Dick Tracy which is about as ridiculous as it sounds), but on the other hand, it's probably the only place you'll see Elina Lowensohn and Thomas Jay Ryan together outside of a Hal Hartley film which is pretty awesome. The film kind of suffers once they're out of the picture but at least it's still completely bizarre and unique.
