Soup to Nuts

The actual movie here (about a floundering costume shop and a fireman's ball) isn't much to write home about. But it's got its gimmick in the form of a Rube Goldberg machine brought to prop comedy life, and a cameo by the man himself. And, perhaps of greatest interest these days, the Stooges are there and recognizably stoogish even in these young days. Just don't be lead astray into thinking they're the stars, as their scenes are just a few minutes (though mercifully funnier than the rest).

The first 3 Stooges movie!!! And Shemp was in with the original gang! We also get to meet the "forth" stooge in Ted Healy's vaudeville troop, Fred Sanborn who plays a silly little mute here. Soup to Nuts is a strange free-form style comedy. It's more like watching a vaudeville show because thats what it really is, transforming their act and trying to make a story out of it. Doesn't quite work, but it's got some isolated hilarious moments and I'm sure the fans of the 3 Stooges will still love it!
