Police officer Amadeus Warnebring was born into a musical family with a long history of famous musicians. He himself hates music. Now, Warnebring is about to face his worst case ever. A group of six eccentric drummers, led by revolutionary genius Sanna, has decided to launch a full-scale musical attack using the city - its buildings, its machinery, its ceaseless noise - as their instrument. Highly enjoyable on so many levels! Like a sketch comedy concept successfully stretched over a film.

Delightfully inventive in its first 30 minutes, and does a good job of setting the scene for its music video style of musical mayhem while playing it against a straight-faced detective story. However, after the first giddy episode of percussive terrorism, the subsequent ones fall flat, and the film has little more to offer past the halfway mark. As a whole it's quite disappointing, especially seeing how creative and funny the initial idea was.

I like this grounded absurdity style of humour, and it carries the film quite far. Rarely laugh out loud funny, but brought a number of chuckles and kept a smile on my face. The use of sound is very creative and I found myself enjoying the 'music' much more than I would have expected. All that makes for a film that you can sit back and enjoy. I did find it a little bit loose towards the end, the climax is interesting and works narratively, but musically it's underwhelming.

so much fun. good humor, great ideas. the musical scenes were very inventive. one of those rare foreign films where i got so into it i didnt realize until the end i was reading subtitles. good performances. the ending was a little weak, and the pace slows just before the end, otherwise i would have gone into the 90s with my score.

The music and performance is great, the movie is not. It shouldn't even be a movie. Just the music scenes alone are inventive and original enough. No need for a boring plot.

Unique. Its very fun at the beginning but it can't keep the pace going throughout and then kind of tapers out.

Cool concept: tone deaf police officer, must hunt down musicians performing acts of musical vandalism around town. There's a comedic element to the film, but it also had dramatic potential involving the main character. Unfortunately, the film didn't really execute on the idea for me. ps71

Kind of like a movie-length music video... I was bopping my head almost throughout.

This movie is not going to give you good music or a good story or any useful insight or even mere laughs. Its self-importance doesn't seem sincere but that hardly helps.

The first 2/3 of this film are wonderful. It sets up an intriguing premise and everything is seamlessly working to perfection. However in the last 1/3 everything comes unraveled. Its as if writers Simonsson, and Birmant are just looking for an easy conclusion. The relationship that developed between Warnebring and Sanna feels as if it came out of thin air with hardly any motivating factors. The rest of the conclusion was no better as it felt just as awkward and out of place.

I guess it's a film for teenagers. As a comedy it fell completely flat for me. Has some pretty nifty bits, though - like the unintentional performance of 4'33"

Musicians, sick of the constant babble of pointless music, decide to perform a piece called "Music for Six Drummers and One City", which basically adds up to musical terrorism. And the police officer set to catch them is tonedeaf. Lots of fun, and very very danceable.

An incredible, original movie. I mean, I'm just a huge fan of this idea in general... I once tried to make music out of ordinary things (I failed), so this appeals to me. The musical sections are amazing (my favourite being Fuck the Music Kill! Kill!). True industrial music. Anyway, aside from the fantastic idea and the music, the plot itself is interesting. It's a musical cop movie, with some surrealism (the times of silence and whatnot), and it does it all so well.
