This was such a boring zombie movie that even the characters where bored of them, more interested in sleeping and having sex than the slaughter that was going on outside....

When your average zombie movie is this cheap, you need a better script.

Interesting as a plague outbreak film, fails as a zombie film. The best part is the portrayal of a middle class suburban neighborhood slowly breaking down in reaction to biological threat, martial law, quarantine, resource scarcity, starvation, and societal abandonment. It undercuts itself with totally cliched zombies. A government deciding to isolate and execute citizens to prevent a devastating plague is so much worse than it rightly killing off zombies(with some civilian collateral damage).

Sorgenfri aka What We Become is a zombie film that promises much but mostly fails to deliver. The setup is the best part, with the grim situation gradually unfolding for the protagonists, but events unfold somewhat predictably later. If you're looking for the next Let the Right One In then keep searching...

Director seems to have tried adding some subtext with the name 'Sorgenfri' meaning "carefree" where affluent white Danes live in egoistic indifference and they are coerced to fight for their lives when stranger organisms (zombies) start to invade their life space. The idea could have become smthing if there was real dramatic structure, character development, suspense and above all some 'real', flesh & blood zombies to increase the tension. Very meagre and amateurish. Sorgenfriers deserve more :)

Early tension build up let down by final half of the movie, which meanders too much.
