Adaptation of a Paola Riccora theatre piece for the screen, which features the three De Filippo siblings and a young Alda Vialli. Giovannino loses his job and is taken in by the family of his wealthy nephew. Whilst reduced to doing menial takes for the family, he is increasingly blamed for everything untoward. Simple Italian comedy which works because of the characters involved. Mainly the De Filippo family, who play off each other with such ease, as if they were family. Which they are. In the film too.

To be honest, the De Filippo siblings were a major point of interest for me here, and the very young Alida Valli - not yet 16! - was the absolute highlight. The magic is there already. The comedy itself is not the sharpest, and a little bit "Telefoni Bianchi", but still nice for the most part.
