Sometimes Always Never

Bond Review: Sometimes Always Never? Precisely when I expected. Honest Review: A profound look at a different kind of loss. I was touched. Sam Riley's Young, Right? Review: Sam Riley's young, right? He looks convincingly like he could be that kid's dad and that kid is in high school I think. Whoever made that mustache for him might be too good, like, maybe they should be stopped before something really terrible happens good.

This is a very quirky film, which struck me as a bit like a play only obviously a film version of it I suppose. It seemed somehow quite touching, being primarily about a father trying to re-connect with his son, spending time with him, sharing family tales - imparting his wisdom. In some scenes there's not much dialogue, so its pretty quiet, which may bore some people but it does create a certain atmosphere. I like the fact most of the settings feature quite stylishly coloured surroundings.

Gentle family drama, deep in places with a comic touch, fine performances and some interesting direction.
