Engin Ayca has made a movie about amour fou for a couple which gets older and feels lost in a changing world. Cemal's death disturbs Leyla's continuity and makes her think about her love and relation with Cemal in a cyclical and non-linear way which is narrated elegantly through a well calculated parallel editing. A distinct and poignant movie which reminds me of "L'annee dernier a Marienbad" and "In the Mood for Love" and which also is an elegy for Yesilcam.
