Did you know King Vidor did Gone with the Wind (1939) already in 1935? And he told it in 1/3rd it's length too! The stories are very similar at least, but then again stories of the South and the Civil War will always have something very central in common. Here it's Margaret Sullavan & Randolph Scott that's the romance. But with the war, soldiers invading and slavery freedom, their romance had very little time to develop in this 73 minute film. It becomes a very rushed Gone with the Wind.
