Unbeknownst to them, the real owners of the estate have hired a caretaker to run it in their absence, and the caretaker is running a smuggling operation. Not particularly good, but definitely funny. That's how the Bowery Boys film series was one of the longest lasting of a dying breed of B-movies. Leo Gorcey & Huntz Hall were the only ones that meant anything, with the rest being reduced to extras. But that's fine as long as the two display enough stupidity for all of them like they did in this modified old dark house farce.
