Smash & Grab: The Story of the Pink Panthers

Good production value, solid archival footage & they managed to get access to a few of these shadowy figures. About half way through, S&G gets completely distracted by the collapse of Yugoslavia, using it as a backstory for the formation of the group of heist thieves. It's understandable, but the film dove too deep into that rather than its topic. A lack of content could be blamed. Or moreso the director just latched onto a weak link & rode it. Sheds new light on the Cannes jobs done last year.

Too much drama and not enough juicy stuff

Pretty much says at one point they steal diamonds because Communism -wooo. When they tried to draw the line back to the troubles of Yugoslavia it didn't convince this viewer. Interesting still, that copper with the posters was a real goofball.
