Slow Burn

Remaking Louis Sachar's Holes as an adult desert noir is certainly a choice. I eventually looked up the imdb page about halfway through and was pleasantly surprised to find out James Spader was going to make an appearance but it wasn't until another quarter in that I realized he was a main character. I've seen Spader in role after role from the start of his career to the present and I did not recognize him at all. Josh Brolin as a Lennie to Spader's George adds to the wtf.
