Sleepwalk

Cool movie that has no interest in its own plot. The guy that commissions the translation never even asks her what it says

Sara Driver invented a machine that video-records people's dreams. This movie was Suzanne Fletcher's dream, dreamt in 1986. "...And Steve Buscemi was in it..."

Bears many of those no-wave traits but more developed and particular. It almost comes across as a Jarmusch/Lynch mash-up, a faint feeling exacerbated by Buscemi's presence, a Dern-ish lead, and, obviously, Jarmusch on the cinematograph. Perhaps also comparable to Union City. Sound design is consistently fascinating. Bill Rice has a brief cameo.

Probably the best movie i've seen all year. Jarmusch ain't got nothing on this.
