Sleeping Dogs Lie

I’ve had to take showers after watching certain movies but this was the first time I had to brush my teeth.

What I learned from this movie: eating a cookie covered in the semen of 4 to 5 of your best friends is okay. Wait, what?

The moral is unusual but rings true: yes, honesty is important in relationships, and yes, it can feel great to get a secret off your chest, but at the same time, some shit you should just keep to yourself. It would be nice if this actually looked like a film but you know gift horse et cetera.

"Who here knows what dog semen tastes like?" Surprisingly entertaining and even touching in parts given the gonzo premise.

If this & World's Greatest Dad r any indication, Bob Goldthwait may be the most excitingly unique voice in cinema today. Though he traffics in the same kind of shock humor many lowbrow comedies do, his shocks r more than just throwaway punch-lines. They can form the basis 4 entire narratives & r explored w/ intelligence, & most surprisingly, heart. There's also a great & criminally underrated lead performance here that's exponentially braver than Cameron Diaz' much-ballyhooed spunk-gel'd hairdo

The whole concept of this movie is that a girl sucks a dog's dick and then her life is ruined. If you are sucking a dogs dick - your life was ruined much earlier than this.

Aw man, she blew a dog, her brother's fucked up, she has a family tragedy AND she took a door knob to the ass? Some people can't catch a break

A tender and honest film about the repercussions of dog fucking.

Though Sleeping Dogs Lie handles its premise and characters skillfully, its pedestrian production quality is difficult to overcome. Still, it's a promising step toward writer-director Bobcat Goldthwait's crowning work of black comedy, World's Greatest Dad.

A couple of small laughs don't really save it. A funny premise for a short film but not for 90 minutes. Gets better as it goes, though.

The characters are really unbelievable in this movie. I just don't believe for example the parents would react the way that they do. The ending of the movie was better then expected.

the story is dark..about a girl who blows a dog and thinks that ruins her life. this movie has alot of comedy moments that are so awkward and dark...that i dont know whether laughing or shreiking was the thing to do...this movie has some moments of genius but all in all i dont know it was a little too morbid for me

Surprisingly solid movie from a man pretty much previously only known for shouting very, very loud.

Very funny! You will really feel for her the whole time, everyone has secrets. I suggest you find out hers.
