Skyscraper

This was awesomely bad. From the motley cast featuring the likes of a romance novel cover model and Whoopie Goldberg's male clone, to the laughably low production values (they milked at least 5 minutes of film time showing naught but a hand gripping a control stick), to incomprehensible dialogue like "I'll put a bullet so far up your ass, you'll be pissing out your nose." What I learned from this movie: there are only 11 spots to land a helicopter in LA, and Anna Nicole-Smith is at one of them.

Maybe the worst part about this movie -- a Die Hard clone starring Anna Nicole Smith for some reason -- is that it's more unremarkable than outright bad. Oh don't worry, Smith is hilariously out of place in every scene, and even brings a heightened sense of ennui to her randomly tacked-on softcore vignettes. But the overall production values are almost reasonable, and at least one person involved with this thing had seen a few action movies before. I was hoping for a much bigger mess.

An absolutely essential supplement are the outtakes, which you can watch on youtube. If you're up to it, follow up by trying to watch Anna Nicole Smith's fucking reality TV show. Best accompanied by resplendent levels of shit-facedness.

Breathtakingly incompetent in just about every way, it unfortunately only sometimes gets to so bad it's good territory. The kid on the bike made me laugh out loud every time. A bunch of it is just so bad it's bad, though. Smith gives one of the most profoundly terrible performances I've ever seen (it must be seen to be believed) and she might not even have the worst performance in the movie. Recommended to the terrible movie aficionado.

So bad, but enjoyable bad. The acting is shit and it's a joy seeing Smith trying to act while super high. Great story too.

This is a terrible Die Hard ripoff, but it's hard to hate it when you feel sympathy for Anna Nicole-Smith as as drugged up, burnt out mess. The outtakes (available on Youtube) are so tragic to watch it took all the hate-wind out of my sails. Oh, she does get her tits out too and tits are always a plus.
