Could've been great, but the story, topic, and characters are treated in a way that leaves very little room for nuance. I'd argue it looks fine, but I could film myself with an Alexa camera and some nifty Zeiss lenses while pinching a loaf and it'd probably look cinematic as well.

The Israeli director's vision of US racial strife ultimately goes in a direction far too ludicrous to provoke anything but eye-rolls. If you pretend it's a vulgar EC Comics-style dark comedy (complete w/ gleefully crass comeuppance) it does kind of work. Batshit crazy & tasteless, this is in no way a credible portrayal of anything. Though clearly intended as anti-racist, its portrayal of black people is actually quite racist.
