Six Pack

Laid back star vehicle is much better than it has any right to be, largely thanks to Rogers' likable performance (as a kind of bleary eyed Chuck Norris) and well-modulated performances from the kids, especially Lane. Mix of the underdog and grumpy Scrooge formulas is a little ungainly at times, and the screenplay can't quite pull everything together at the end (did we really need Corbin and Kiser as two separate antagonists?) but it's still a surprising amount of fun.

Not particularly noteworthy... a sorta meandering, sweet redemption story of a grouchy race car driver and some cute kids, but a great song, Rocky Top, TN... Reminds me a bit of Real Steel in the unlikeability of the hero.

This one totally is bonus points for nostaliga for me. Don't ask me why, but I remember this being one of my favorite movies when I was about 6 years old. Still love the theme song.
