Sitting Pretty

I'm familiar with the 1980s sitcom Mr. Belvedere, so it was interesting to see where the screen version came from. So here is Sitting Pretty (1948) with 3-time Academy nominee Clifton Webb as the genius babysitter. I don't know what I expected, for even considering this was a cinematic feature, it was still an extended sitcom episode at heart. A fun one at that with Webb being an odd casting choice. I'm not sure Webb's role deserved an Oscar nod, though.

Fun movie! I had no idea there was a "Mr Belvedere" movie series, starring Clifton Webb! Robert Young, Maureen O'Hara and the child actors were also excellent.

Cute comedy. I was never quite sure how I felt about Mr. Belvedere, since Clifton Webb does a great job of being likable or unlikable, or both at the same time. The rest of the cast, eh okay. The film had a good theme, boys and girls, of gossip and not believing everything you hear about people. I'm kind of curious how similar the 80's TV show is, but not curious enough to watch it,
