Deloris Van Cartier is again asked to don the nun's habit to help a run-down Catholic school, presided over by Mother Superior. Leapt all over the inner city school movie they decided to make the sequel, I am powerless against the genre. The stakes are so low here, oh no they'll close thr school and uh ... I guess they'll go to another school! Just a warm hug of a movie, Whoopi!

Mostly reheated leftovers from the first movie, only this time with Lauryn Hill, early '90s hip-hop, and some wacky monks. The final "Joyful, Joyful" number is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Extremely dated thanks to the ridiculous rap sessions and funky clothes, but it does have some amusing moments. Whoopi has the right attitude that makes you want to see her give guidance to these troubled kids. Of course it's cliche and absolutely over-the-top; the sass in this movie is almost enough to choke the viewer. A couple characters have some unique characteristics, but overall there's little development. I personally give more points because the music is decent and I love Lauryn Hill.

Not as solid as the first, but still fun in its sheer 90's-ness. Can't wait for Sister Act 3: Old Habits Die Hard.

Watchable but bland, artificial sequel cashes in on the "hard knock" school craze of the 80s and 90s (stealing DANGEROUS MIND's thunder in the process), admittedly coming to life during the gospel music numbers (and this from a non-fan of the music genre). But it's all so painfully predictable, and sanitised for a G-rated audience, discarding any of the mild edge of the first film. Najimy has a few nice lines, and much respect to the semi "fuck off" that Smith must have given to the producers!

This is another unnecessary sequel that is not good as the first in the series. Watch the first film instead of this one.

The usual sequel cash-in, with a small part played by future ghost whisperer Jennifer Love Hewitt. Yeah, that's all I can say about it.

The first movie was not bad, but this was only motivated by the success of the previous. But he still has some good parts, but very little.

This movie gets a bad rap (no pun intended) and really isn't deserved. This isn't so much a sequel as it is a new movie with the same characters. It has a very good soundtrack and is responsible for the introduction of Lauren Hill. Decent flick.

More watchable than the first. The plot about Goldberg having to teach and inspire disengaged students is more believable and engaging cliched ridden "hide from gangsters" plot of the first.

10/3/2013. Expected something similar to the first movie, but it was terrible. If you want to see a nice choir movie, see 'Les Choristes' instead and leave this dvd in the $1 leftover box of your local dumpstore.

Sister Act 2 is lousy. The characterizations are so banal that they remind me of things I wrote in 8th grade. If there is a finite well, this is the pond scum that floats on top. A huge disappointment, especially compared to the very passable original.

One of only three movies I saw in the theaters on back-to-back nights. For some reason, I really like this movie, even though the music isn't nearly as good as the first one. Lauren Hill is amazing, though.

There was a girl in my class in grade 8 that vehemently claimed this was superior to the first. The argument I had about why she was wrong seems so trivial now, as both of these are pretty much cinematic abortions. It's hard to decide which is worse.

What does that mean anyway? Back in the habit? Back in the habit of singing? Back in the habit of being a nun? What habit is on display in this movie? Ohhhh! Like a nun's habit! Like a nun wears! Oh, boy. That's clever. All sarcasm aside, this movie is not as fun as the first although the music is pretty good.
