Sins of Man

"Get on your knees, you mugs, we're praying!" A film heavy on sentimentality and religiousness, but plenty of heart as a father and son get estranged. Jean Hersholt was so good at this sort of thing. A stellar performance from him and it's a shame this movie isn't better known. The bum Allen Jenkins gives probable the speech of his career and helps wake the picture up when it gets a little too down on it's luck. Most significant thing is that it's Don Ameche's first credited screen appearance
