Not particularly bad, but completely forgettable. It had swashbuckling, right?

There's nothing really bad about it, good animation and a fun adventure but nothing stands out to make it more than a decent way to pass the time.

An enjoyable swashbuckler with a little bit too much "modern" talk from the unnecessary celebrity cast, and some admittedly terrible 3D animation. I find this movie charming, though, despite itself - and it has a GREAT villain.

Frothy and bouncy swashbuckler balances its iffy mix of “traditional” animation and some fairly poor CGI with some genuinely exhilarating action sequences, and a nice pair of performances from Pitt and Zeta-Jones who throw themselves into this INDIANA JONES-lite with gusto; Pfeiffer threatens to walk away with the movie as a diabolically seductive villain who nevertheless feels like something of an afterthought. Not particularly substantive, but fast-paced enough so that you will never be bored.

The film is not without cheese, but for what is essentially a kids movie, it's tight, entertaining and makes for an enjoyably light-hearted take on the Sinbad legend. The CGI has aged badly but the 2D animation still looks great. Setpieces like the snow griffin are a lot of fun.

Much like El Dorado, a decent spread of funny lines and good swashbuckling action get hampered by an uneven and badly paced script. While I didn't expect this to adhere religiously to the source material, at least *some* resemblance would have been nice. The story is actually an adaptation of the Greek story of Damon and Pythias, with not even an Arabic paint job, no, everything about it is decidedly Hellenic. Also, the 3D effects look like ass.

This movie's script has an incredibly obnoxious heterosexual relationship in it, but the animation and the voice direction craft an intense, barely-subtextual tale of queer exes between Sinbad and his best friend. Plus, Eris is delightful and inappropriately horny. The bad parts definitely drag it down, but I'd say it's worth a watch, especially at only 78 minutes before the credits. And hey - PUPPY CATAPULT! :D

A kid could like it, and I am more generous with kid movies. Almost every character goes from easy to tolerate, to actually fun. The goofy sidekick beats by far many of Disney's goofy sidekicks. The monster designs and esthetics are neat too. The plot felt a bit weak however, and the ending seemed rushed. It sort of just fizzles out, or feels like a tv show episode where you need to keep the status quo at the end. It should have been more of a punch.

Eris, the evil goddess of Chaos has stolen the Book of Peace and Sinbad has been accused of the theft. To prove his innocence, Sinbad makes a journey to find the Book. He will have to defeat all kinds of monsters that Eris unleashes on him first.

Some new winds are blowing on these Seven Seas. It's kind of new of animation where computer generated graphics are mixed up with classical drawings. Movie itself is very ... fast, never stopping, so the younger viewers won't get bored. Sirens were beautiful.

at face it's an interesting retelling of the odyssey, but like it's some wacked out hammy self-insert fanfic. super-dense cringe capable of murder. some admittedly incredible animation sequences can't save a script with the character of wet plastic. reddit before reddit. i have no f*cking idea who this film was made for. i didn't really like it as a kid, and i still don't like it.

There's so much so enjoy in this movie, yet, not a single likable character on sight, except maybe for the dog and the king. To be fair, most of the issues would be solved by eliminating all the contemporizing elements off the dialogues. What worked so fine on Aladdin and Hercules falls flat here.

I have a soft spot for good 2D animation, OK?

Sinbad sports pretty poor CG animation for its time, and a pair of unlikable lead characters. Throw in a thin plot and a completely useless action sequence after the denouement, and this movie successfully squanders all audience goodwill. Continues a remarkable personal string of never liking any Catherine Zeta-Jones movie ever.

The animation's good, the story is meh, but overall this wasn't so painful to watch. Better than most of Dreamwork's crap.

Highly disappointing. A missed opportunity. Plot and writing was thin and characters were never fully developed. Unappealing and ultimately boring.

Very surprising characters, it's a shame that the scriptwriters seen the need to add Greek mythology creatures to this original arabic tale. all in all, action packed and very little corny parts.
